                          Welcome Letter

When I graduated from medical school and wanted to join a
residency in US, I was bewildered on so many fronts. What books to
study? What topics to concentrate? How to register for USMLE?
How much time to spend on each topic? Which residency programs
to apply? How to travel around the United States to attend the
interviews? Which hotel to stay while taking Clinical Skills
Test?....the questions are endless. The quest I've taken took me
through a distinct wave of experiences marked with the crests of joy
and achievement often interrupted with troughs of disappointment
and sorrow. It started with imagination, endured with hardwork and
faith in God, it ended with a peak of success when I received the
letter from the Program Director offering me the residency contract.
Now, by God's grace and my hardwork, I've realized my dream and
started an urgent care center in Pennsylvania.

While preparing for USMLE, I used to carry the picture of Abe
Lincoln with me. Because my story is not much different. He lost his
job in 1832, failed in business in 1833, had nervous breakdown in
1836, defeated for Speaker in 1838, defeated for nomination for
Congress in 1843, rejected for US Senate in 1854, defeated for
nomination for Vice President in 1856, but the story ended well. He
was elected for the President of the United States in 1860 and
remained in history, arguably, as the greatest President of the
United States. He once said 'Always bear in mind that your own
resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing'.

My path has not been easy. The struggle I had to go through to
secure a visa to the United States, the anxiety of a flight that is flying
late on my way to a residency interview, the disappointment of not
matching into the program I wanted, the loneliness of staying away
from my family, the incurrsing debt of a financial loan, the tiredness
as I sat with books after a day's work.....I had to go through so much
anguish. But without griping, I always worked hard focussing on my
objectives. Now, working as a physician in an urgent care center, I
savor everyday with pleasure remembering the bittersweet
memories of the preparation.

Over the years I've received countless questions from my friends
and acquaintances, asking me about how they could realize the
dreams I had before. I built this site to answer such questions so that
everyone who has those problems could get some information and
advice. This site is intended to help everyone who is eager to learn
and advance their careers in medical profession in USA.

May God bless USA and may God bless you and help you achieve
your dream of getting into a residency program as soon as possible.
Thank you.
